Pandesal

Pandesal means the bread of salt and it's very popular in the Philippines.  It is not salty, as the name implies.  It rather is on the sweet side.  It is nice and crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside.  My husband was craving this the other day, so I made it for him, as a nice reminder of his LDS mission to the islands.  Of course, this has to be served hot with the yummy noodles and some Pepsi.:)  Enjoy!
Ingredients:
-1 cup lukewarm water
-1 tsp instant dry yeast
-1 tsp salt
-1/4 cup sugar
-1/4 cup vegetable oil
-3 cups flour
-1/4 cup fine bread crumbs
Directions:
Pour the water into large mixing bowl.  Sprinkle yeast over it and let it sit for 10 minutes.  Add the sugar, salt and vegetable oil.  Mix well.  Add the flour, half a cup at a time.  Mix well.  Move the dough onto a slightly floured surface and knead it by hand for a few minutes.  Place dough into oiled bowl.  Cover well and let it rise until double in size.
Preheat oven to 325 F.  Punch the risen dough out.  Shape into rolls.  Roll through bread crumbs.  Shake off the excess.  Place rolls onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Bake in preheated oven for 25-20 minutes, or until nice and golden brown.  Enjoy!
