Onion, Chicken and Rice Casserole

This is such a nice, comforting dish.  The onions are cooked in butter until nice and soft, then combined with the leftover chicken or turkey and rice, and topped with crescent dough.  Very yummy!  Enjoy!
Ingredients:
-1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
-2 large onions, halved and sliced
-1 tsp salt
-1/2 tsp pepper
-1 1/2 cups uncooked instant white rice
-2 cups beef broth
-1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
-2 cups shredded leftover chicken or turkey
-4 oz shredded pepper jack cheese
-8 oz refrigerated crescents
-butter flavored cooking spray
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 F. Coat 9x13 baking dish with butter flavored cooking spray and set aside.
Melt the butter in large skillet.  Add the onion slices and cook for about 15 minutes or until nice and soft, stirring occasionally.  Season with salt and pepper.  Add the rice and give it a good stir.  Cook for a couple of minutes.  Stir in the broth and sauce.  Add the chicken and cook for a couple of minutes. Stir in the cheese.  Once the cheese is melted, pour mixture into prepared dish.
Unroll crescent dough and place on top of onion mixture.  Coat dough with butter flavored cooking spray.
Bake in preheated oven for about 18 minutes or until dough is golden brown. Enjoy!
