Crunchy Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a nice variation from the regular chocolate chip cookies.  By adding corn flakes you get a nice, unexpected crunch, with a burst of extra flavor.  Very yummy!  Enjoy!
Recipe yields about 5 dozen cookies
Ingredients:
-2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter
-1 cup sugar
-1 cup packed brown sugar
-1 tsp salt
-2 tsp baking soda
-2 tsp vanilla extract
-2 large eggs
-2 1/2 cups flour
-2 cups crushed corn flakes
-1 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F.  Line cookie sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
Quickly melt the butter, then add it to your electric mixer's bowl.  Using the paddle attachment, beat the hot butter on the low setting for about 1 minute (this will cool it off a little).  Add the sugars and beat until well incorporated..  Add the salt, baking soda, vanilla and eggs.  Beat very well.  Add the flour, 1/2 cup at the time.  Lastly, add the corn flakes and chocolate chips.
Once well mixed, scoop dough onto prepared sheets.
Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.
Remove from the oven and cool in pan on rack for 10 minutes.  Remove from pan and place on rack to cool completely.  Enjoy!
