Sarah's Buttery Sugar Cookies

 Warning: these cookies are highly addictive! They're buttery, sweet, and simply melt in your mouth! You can enjoy them simple or add sprinkles to them, like my sweet little Sarah did. They are wonderful either way. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

-1 cup (2 sticks) butter, at room temperature

-1 cup sugar

-1 large egg

-1 tsp vanilla extract

-2 tsp baking powder

-2 3/4 cups flour

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 F. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.

Cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg, vanilla and baking powder. Mix well, then add the flour, 1/2 cup at the time. 

Using a floured surface, roll out the dough, then cut into desired shapes. Place on prepared sheets.

Bake in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown on the edges.

Remove from oven and enjoy! YUM!
