Chicken Fried Steak with Gravy

Yes, this is serious comfort food. It's so tasty and perfect for the end of a long, cold day. So delicious! Enjoy!
Ingredients:
-2  1/2 cups flour, divided
-salt
-pepper
-3 large eggs
-3 cups milk, divided
-8-9 cube beef steaks
-oil for frying
-2 cups water
-fresh flaky biscuits (optional)
Directions:
Place 2 cups of the flour in a shallow bowl and season with 2 tsp salt and 2 tsp pepper. Mix well and set aside.
In another shallow bowl, beat the eggs, mix with 1 cup of the milk, and season with 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper.
Heat oil for frying in a large skillet.
Season each steak on both sides with some salt and pepper. Dip in flour, then in egg mixture, then back in the flour, shaking the excess off. Place in hot oil. Fry on medium-high heat for about 5 minutes per side or until golden brown. Remove onto paper towel lined plate.
Once all the steaks have been fried, drain all but 1/4 cup of the oil from the skillet. Return skillet to stove. Add remaining 1/2 cup flour and season with 2 tsp salt and 2 tsp pepper. Whisk until nice and smooth. Cook for 3-4 minutes, whisking constantly. Add the water and remaining 2 cups of milk. Whisk until smooth. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook for a couple of minutes or until thickened.
Serve gravy immediately over warm steaks and fresh biscuits, if desired. YUM! Enjoy!
