Orange Chicken (like Panda Express)

Our family LOVES the orange chicken from Panda Express, so why not make it at home? It's easy and so delicious! Enjoy!
Ingredients:
For chicken:
-1 Tbs salt
-1 tsp white pepper
-1/2 cup cornstarch
-3 cups flour
-1 large egg
-1 1/2 cups water
-2 Tbs oil
-3 large chicken breasts, skinless, boneless, cut into chunks
For sauce:
-2 Tbs oil
-2 garlic cloves, minced
-1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
-1/2 tsp ground ginger
-1/2 cup sugar
-1/2 cup packed brown sugar
-1/2 cup orange juice
-1/2 cup white vinegar
-1/4 cup soy sauce
-1/4 cup water
-1/4 cup cornstarch
-2 tsp sesame oil
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix all of the batter ingredients. Once nice and smooth, add the chicken chunks and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Fry battered chicken chunks in batches until golden brown. Do not crowd the chicken or the batter will not stick. Once the chicken is golden brown, remove onto plate lined with paper towels.
In a large saucepan, heat the oil for the sauce. Add the garlic, pepper flakes, and ginger. Give it a good stir and cook for 30 seconds. Add the sugars and orange juice. Mix well, then add the vinegar and soy sauce. In a small bowl, quickly mix the water and cornstarch. Add mixture to sauce. Give it a good stir and bring to a simmer. Once nice and thick, remove from stove and stir in the sesame oil. Mix well, then add the golden chicken chunks. Make sure to coat evenly.
Serve on top of cooked rice. YUM! Enjoy!
