Honey-Walnut Shrimp
This is one of our favorite dishes when we eat out, so why not make it at home? It's easy and just as delicious! Enjoy!
Ingredients:
For the walnuts:
-2/3 cup sugar
-1/4 cup water
-a pinch of salt
-1 cup walnut halves
For the shrimp:
-1/2 cup cornstarch
-1/2 cup cornstarch
-1/2 tsp garlic powder
-1 tsp salt
-2 lbs shrimp, peeled, deveined, with tails removed
-3 Tbs vegetable oil
For the sauce:
-1 cup mayonnaise
-1/4 cup honey
-1 Tbs soy sauce
-1 Tbs lemon juice
Directions:
Let's make the sweet walnuts first. In a small sauce pan, add the sugar, water, and salt. Mix well and bring to a simmer. Add the walnuts and give it a good stir. Remove pan from stove. Line a plate with wax paper and place the walnuts on it. Set aside.
Mix cornstarch, garlic powder, and salt in a large resealable bag. Add the shrimp and mix well to coat evenly.
Heat oil in large skillet or wok. Add the shrimp and cook until golden brown.
While the shrimp is cooking, quickly mix all the sauce ingredients. When the shrimp is done, add the sauce and candied walnuts. Give it a good stir and remove from the stove.
Serve immediately on top of cooked rice. YUM! Enjoy!
