Patty Melts

Easy, filling, and delicious! We love this one! If you want a crunchier bread, toast it before putting the sauce and patties on it, then grill again. If not, just leave as is. Absolutely delicious. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
For onions:
-6 Tbs salted butter
-3 large onions, halved and sliced
For patties:
-2 lbs lean ground beef
-1 tsp salt
-1 tsp pepper
-sliced baby Swiss cheese
-favorite sliced bread (honey wheat, rye, etc)
For sauce:
-1 cup Thousand Island dressing
-1/8 cup prepared horseradish
-serve with pickle spears, optional
Directions:
Melt butter in large skillet. Add the onions and cook, stirring occasionally until nice and soft (30-40 minutes).
Shape ground beef into patties. Season with salt and pepper on both sides. Cook until done to your liking.
Mix dressing and horseradish together.
To assemble, spread some of the sauce on both sides of the bread. Top with a patty, cheese, and some of that delicious onion. Butter the outside of the bread and grill until cheese is perfectly melted. Serve immediately with a pickle spear on the side, if desired. Yum! Enjoy!
