Orange Crush Cupcakes

These are super easy to make and so yummy! They are soft and fluffy, and simply delicious. You can use pretty much any cake mix and soda flavor you like, but this combination is a family favorite for us. So yummy! Enjoy!
Recipe Yields 24 cupcakes
Ingredients:
For cupcakes:
-1 (15.25 oz) box super moist white cake mix
-1 1/2 cups orange crush soda
For frosting and decorating:
-2 (12 oz each) cans whipped white frosting
-red and yellow food coloring
-1 tsp orange extract
-orange slices (candied), for topping
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Line 2 cupcake pans with paper liner and set aside.
Mix really well the cake and soda. Divide evenly between the 24 cupcakes. 
Bake in preheated oven for 17 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean.
Remove from oven and cool in pan, on wire rack, for 10 minutes.
Remove cupcakes from pan and continue cooling on wire rack.
Once completely cooled, mix the frosting with the food coloring and orange extract. Adjust the food coloring until you get the desired shade of orange. Pipe frosting on cool cupcakes. Top with an orange slice.
