Creamy Pork Chops with Pears

This is one of those gourmet recipes that is worth the occasional splurge of unique flavors. The sweetness of the pears pairs really nicely with the pork flavor, nicely simmered in a creamy sauce.  Really nice dish!  I served ours with simple mashed potatoes and my buttery green beans. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
-6 Tbs salted butter
-1.5 lbs pork chops, trimmed of all fat
-3 pears, firm, peeled, seeded and chopped
-1/2 red onion, finely chopped
-3 garlic cloves, minced
-1/4 cup chicken broth
-1/2 cup heavy cream
-1/2 tsp salt
-1/2 tsp pepper
-1/2 tsp dried thyme leaves
Directions:
Melt butter in large skillet over high heat.  Add the chops and quickly brown on both sides.  Remove pork onto plate and return skillet to stove.
To the skillet, add the pears and red onion.  Saute for a couple of minutes.  Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
Stir in the broth and simmer for about 5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients.  Give it a good stir and cook for 4-5 minutes or until sauce thickens.
Return the pork to the skillet, including any juices they left on the plate.  Lower the heat, cover the skillet and simmer for about 10 minutes.
Serve with mashies or rice and some veggies.  Enjoy!
