Sloppy Joe Casserole
This is the perfect family dish. Super easy and so delicious! Enjoy!
Ingredients:-1 Tbs vegetable oil
-1 small onion, finely chopped
-1 green bell pepper, diced
-2 cloves garlic, minced
-2 lbs extra lean ground beef
-2 (15.5 oz each) cans original sloppy joe mix
-salt and pepper, to taste (about1/2 tsp each)
-1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
-8 slices cheddar cheese
-1 can grands flaky biscuits
Garlic Butter Topping:
-1 Tbs butter
-1/8 tsp garlic powder
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Heat oil in large skillet. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Stir and cook for about 3 minutes. Stir in the ground beef and break up the clumps as it cooks. Once the meat is nicely browned, add the sloppy joe sauce, salt, pepper, and pepper flakes. Give it a good stir and bring to a simmer.
Pour the mixture into a 9x13 baking dish. Arrange the slices of cheese on top (you might have to break a few in half to fit).
Separate each biscuit in half (you should have 16 biscuits) and place on top of the cheese.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
While the casserole is baking, melt the butter for the topping. Stir in the garlic powder.
Once the casserole is done baking, remove from the stove and brush the top with the garlic butter topping.
Let it sit for a couple of minutes, then dig in! YUM! Enjoy!
