Sage Sausage with Pasta

Oh, how our family loves this dish! It's easy, delicious, and quite hearty. So, so yummy!! Enjoy!

Ingredients:
-1 lb pasta (penne, rotini, small shells, etc)
-6 oz frozen edamame
-1/4 cup (1/2 stick) salted butter
-2 lbs sage sausage OR 2 lbs sausage + 1/2 tsp rubbed sage
-1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
-1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Directions:
Cook pasta according to package instructions. Add the frozen edamame in the last 4 minutes of cooking. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water. Drain the rest.
While pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet (a wok works great for this). Continue cooking the butter until slightly brown. Add the sausage (and sage), breaking the clumps as it cooks. Sprinkle the red pepper flakes. Once the sausage is cooked, add the cup of pasta water. Stir in the drained pasta and edamame. Give it a good stir and remove from the stove.
Stir in the cheese and mix well until melted. Enjoy! YUM!
