Sarah's Sugar Cookies
My cute daughter, Sarah, loves to bake. She made these for us a few weeks ago and they were gone in a few minutes. You can use any kind of sprinkles you want for these or leave them completely alone. So yummy! Enjoy!
Ingredients:
-1 cup butter, at room temperature
-2/3 cup sugar PLUS 3 Tbs for rolling the cookies in
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-2 cups flour
-sprinkles, optional
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.
In your mixer, cream the butter and 2/3 cup of the sugar. Add the vanilla and flour, half of cup at a time.
Once well mixed, roll the dough into 1 inch balls, and roll through the 3 Tbs of sugar.
Flatten out the balls and make a small indentation in the middle (you may use a small shot glass or something similar for that). Coat with some sprinkles, if desired.
Bake in preheated oven for 15-16 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden brown.
Remove cookies from the oven and let them rest for about 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!
